About and Contact

Mostly Live is a duo performing in the extended San Francisco Bay Area from Monterey to Santa Rosa. Our focus is on favorite rock, pop, and folk tunes from the latter half of the 20th century onward, with the occasional Russian folk song, using violin in place of electric guitar, keyboard, bass, vocals, and pre-recorded backing tracks. Recent shows included songs from Creedence Clearwater Revival, Smash Mouth, Dire Straits, Willie Nelson, and The Wanted.

Nathan Ladyzhensky

Violin, Mandolin, Guitar, Keyboards, Percussion, Vocals, Arrangements

Nathan Ladyzhensky was born and raised in Odessa, Ukraine, a city important to the old Jewish-Yiddish culture and music. He learned many folk songs from his mother, and this music always reminds him of his childhood and his family. His first career was in classical music, playing viola with the San Francisco Opera and Symphony. Later, he switched to a career in financial planning. A few years ago he finally learned how to play music for fun, and is really enjoying this new stage of his life — interpreting old songs with new sounds, performing once again, and still keeping the old Yiddish music traditions.

We Play. You Listen. Everybody Happy!
